Summer is one of our favourite times of year here in Summerland. Located in the heart of the South Okanagan along the shores of Okanagan Lake, Summerland truly comes alive during July and August with local markets, beaches, wineries, hiking trails, and community events that bring people together all season long.

At Bell, Jacoe & Company, we enjoy being part of a community that offers a welcoming, active lifestyle throughout the summer. Whether spending time outdoors, supporting local businesses, or enjoying the incredible scenery the Okanagan is known for, there is always something happening in and around Summerland.

Enjoying Local Markets and Fresh Okanagan Fruit

One of the highlights of summer in Summerland is visiting the local fruit stands and community markets that showcase everything the Okanagan is famous for. The Summerland Rotary Sunday Market runs from June 21 to Sept 27, every Sunday morning from 9 am to 1 pm. is a favourite stop for residents and visitors alike, offering fresh produce, handmade goods, baked treats, and local entertainment.

Cherry, peach, and apricot season brings extra energy to the community as orchards and roadside fruit stands become busy throughout July and August. Supporting local growers and small businesses is something we value at Bell, Jacoe & Company, and summer is one of the best times to experience the strong sense of community that makes Summerland such a special place to live and work.

Exploring Summerland’s Wineries and Scenic Patios

Summerland is also well known for its wineries, vineyard views, and relaxing patio experiences. The Bottleneck Drive winery route attracts visitors from across British Columbia who come to enjoy wine tastings, outdoor seating, and beautiful Okanagan scenery.

Some of our favourite summer highlights include enjoying lake and vineyard views while visiting local wineries and taking in the relaxed atmosphere that Summerland is known for. Many wineries also host live music nights and seasonal events during July and August, making them popular gathering places throughout the summer.

As a long-standing legal firm serving the South Okanagan, Bell, Jacoe & Company appreciates seeing local businesses, wineries, and tourism continue contributing to the growth and vibrancy of the community.

Outdoor Adventures Around Okanagan Lake

Outdoor recreation is another reason so many people look forward to summer in Summerland. From boating and paddleboarding to relaxing at the beach, there are endless ways to enjoy the warm weather around Okanagan Lake.

Peach Orchard Beach remains one of the area’s most popular summer destinations, while Giant’s Head Mountain offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lake, vineyards, and surrounding valley. The Kettle Valley Rail Trail is also a favourite for walking and cycling during the summer months.
